Former URI Punter, Rising Musician, Returns for Tour in Rhode Island

5.12.25 - Kingston, RI — Former Rams punter for the University of Rhode Island (URI) and rising country/rock music artist Davey Allen is set to return to Rhode Island. #37 is coming back for a 3-day Rhode Island music tour throughout the state, in the final weekend of June 2025.

Known as “Davey Allen” on stage, he’s quickly become a staple in the Rochester, NY local music scene. Davey covers today’s country artists such as Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and more along with a variety of rock and 90’s hits.

Davey has seen his popularity explode on TikTok with his covers of 90’s music, particularly that of Alice In Chains, a 90’s grunge band from of Seattle, Washington. Davey has amassed over 45,000 followers on Tik Tok in a few short months — with tens of millions of views in total — and has garnered millions of views on multiple videos. His covers of both “Nutshell” and “Would?” have nearly one million views and over 110,000 likes each.

He also writes his own music, and he recently performed in Nashville at Ole Red and Live Oak on Music Row. He has started working with musicians and producers in the Music City and in Rochester to produce more music and is looking to release his first project in the coming months.

“Playing football at URI gave me some of the best moments of my life,” said Davey. “I’ve wanted to come back ever since I graduated. Music has given me the opportunity to travel a bit more, and I’m so excited to return to Rhode Island and reconnect with some of my friends, teammates, and coaches that I spent so many years with.”
