ABOUT DAVEY

Davey Allen is an emerging rock and grunge Nashville recording artist from Rochester, NY. He started with videos of him singing in a stairwell and has amassed a community of hundreds of thousands of fans across all platforms. He is working on releasing the rest of his Layne Staley Tribute Project throughout the end of the year and will be releasing his own original music in 2026 and going on tour. He has opened for national acts like Sam Donald and has played at major fairs and festivals like the 2025 NYS Fair.

Known for his raspy, booming vocals in the stairwell, Davey Allen is starting to bring grunge and rock music back to the mainstream fold. Many recognize him and his Gibson Hummingbird guitar from TikTok videos filmed in a stairwell, covering many 90's grunge and 2000's rock songs. Davey quickly amassed thousands of followers and millions of views on his covers of Alice In Chains songs in that stairwell while playing shows in his hometown of Rochester, NY. With fans begging for full versions, Davey released his first single, "Nutshell" on August 15th, 2025 as a tribute to the late Layne Staley, the former lead singer of Alice in Chains. Now Davey is looking to tour regionally, even nationally, and release more music in the coming months. He draws inspiration from the grunge and post-grunge era of rock music with similarities to bands like Staind, Daughtry, and the Stone Temple Pilots. This former NFL tryout and punter for the University of Rhode Island has captivated many with his passionate performances and unique voice, bringing back a style of music and a sense of nostalgia not felt since the early 2000s.
